01
Control vendor information
Create a schedule for equipment data and identify which design decisions depend on it. Changes to loads, service demands or installation clearances should trigger a coordinated review of structures and MEP, with responsibility for process design clearly identified.
02
Evaluate installation sequences
Compare building and equipment programmes at package level. Check whether access, temporary works and workface availability support the proposed sequence. 4D planning can make installation dependencies easier to review with contractors and vendors.
03
Protect operational continuity
For upgrades and extensions, define the operating boundaries, permitted shutdowns and commissioning interfaces. Review the cost and schedule effect of temporary arrangements and specify what must be verified before production areas are released back to operations.
